Faculty and Fellows
The Institute for Innovative Study (IIS) is presently preparing invitations for new faculty members
and is also accepting letters of interest, intent and support from researchers, sponsors and benefactors.
Affiliations may be developed in the form of visiting or permanent positions including distance-based relationships
for persons with interest and desire to be involved within IIS but who may not be able to spend significant or primary
time at the Institute's home base. The concept of "faculty" within IIS is more akin to that of
"fellow" and "mentor";
while IIS will not deliver formal degree programs or courses, the atmosphere is one of collegiate cooperative learning
and education in the classical sense of to lead out and up ("educare") and to uncover, disclose and discover ("aletheia").
Presently (Autumn, 2011) all focus is being directed into the establishment of
LEAPS, the Laboratory. (See also
the growing Library @ LIBRARY.)
The Institute is interested in bringing into its community persons who are creative, multidisciplinary, and
keen to engage in advanced studies that are synergistic and symbiotic in both intellectual and professional
implications. What matters most at this point is truthfulness, sincerity, character, innovation, a willingness to
stand forth and present cogent and rational arguments for one's hypotheses, theories and models, and a patience to
listen, to understand competive perspectives, and to be able to admit, like Socrates, the limits of one's knowledge and
the vast expanse of one's ignorance.
