The Institute for Innovative Study (IIS) is presently preparing invitations for new faculty members
and is also accepting etters of interest, intent and support from researchers, sponsors and benefactors.
Presently (Spring, 2010) all focus is being directed into the establishment of LEAPS,
the Laboratory.
The Institute is interested in bringing into its community persons who are creative, multidisciplinary, and
keen to engage in advanced studies that are synergistic and symbiotic in both intellectual and professional
implications. What matters most at this point is truthfulness, sincerity, character, innovation, a willingness to
stand forth and present cogent and rational arguments for one's hypotheses, theories and models, and a patience to
listen, to understand competive perspectives, and to be able to admit, like Socrates, the limits of one's knowledge and
the vast expanse of one's ignorance.
Special areas of interest (in terms of academic disciplines) for faculty development and
project activity include (i.e., areas which are suggested and welcome):
- Anomaly detection within imaging, sensing, and sensor fusion environments
- Biologically-based predictive models for social behavior
- Chaos, Complexity theory and Emergent systems
