TETRADYN - Power in Balance and Focus

Structure

The Institute has a simple and straightforward organization: (1) Board of Directors, (2) Executive Committee, and (3) Faculty.

Faculty members may be visitors or permanent members of the Institute community, affiliated with other institutions such as colleges, universities, non-profit institutes, or corporations, and they may be resident or present remotely through modern telecommunications.

All Institute faculty have independence and latitude in defining their programs of research that they conduct under the auspices of and within the support matrix of the Institute. As an intellectual community, the Institute attaches paramount importance and value to the balance between individual and group activities; communications and collaborations are highly encouraged.

The Institute is not a degree-granting institution nor does it intend to be such. LEAPS, the Laboratory for Emergent Adaptive Processes and Systems, is not intended to dominate, centralize, or control any other facets of activity within the Institute but rather to provide seminal guidance, example, inspiration, and mentorship.

The Governance Charter is available for review and constitutes the formal documentation for the Institute as an academic and legal body, including its Articles and By-Laws.

Presently (April, 2010) the Institute is in negotiations for establishing an informal but close and long-term association with an established university. There is great and sincere hope for a rapid establishment of the LEAPS "kernel" at one very prestigious private university which embodies the principles of LEAPs and the Institute and which has directly influenced the thinking of the founder and several collaborators.
